SHOOT PLANNING

  • What to wear

Be yourself! Wear colours that you know suit you and clothes that you feel comfortable in.

Try to choose colours that are complimentary of your brand palette - for example if your brand is known for soft pastel shades try to keep your clothing in these tones.

Block colours tend to photograph best but if choosing pattern, bold patterns photograph well - wide stripes, larger polka dot.

Try to retain some structure in your clothing and wear clothing that is complimentary of your body shape.

Contrast works well in imagery - for example if you are wearing a dark bold colour on top, bright trousers or skirt look great on the bottom.

Texture photographs really well, consider materials with an added dimension like a chunky knit or a satin sheen.

Accessorise as much as you like and celebrate your style!

I recommend keeping black and navy to a minimum.

  • What to bring

In order to capture the unique essence of your brand please be sure to bring items that you feel will help tell your story.

This may include actual tools or equipment that you use every day, your packaging and/or branded materials. It may also simply be some favourite things that showcase your brand personality or that are around you when you work.

Some popular items include candles, reference books, journals, pens, mugs, laptop, phone, spiritual items, lifestyle items, favourite food and drinks - once again keeping in mind the colours within your brand palette.

Please note we can’t hang anything on the wall in the studio.

  • Hair & Make up & Nails

I highly recommend getting professional hair and make up done before you arrive at the studio (unless you are confident doing it yourself)

Please arrange your appointments for 9am or earlier and aim to arrive at the studio at 10.30am. I can be flexible on start time so just let me know if you need to come a little later.

Bring a hair brush/spray and/or serum as required and your make up bag for tweaks during the shoot. I also recommend having your fingers and toes camera ready for those details shots - ideally a professional manicure the week of your shoot.

Please note we have a bathroom facility, clothing rail and ample parking for your convenience.
